Restore the upper floors of the building back into community use as an arts centric facility. A space to be proud of but available for everyone to enjoy.
This will support, not detract from, other local businesses by attracting additional footfall into Ramsbottom and supporting existing events with an additional indoor space.
The second floor and gallery is to be restored to a hi-tech, first class performance space suitable for multiple uses such as:
Theatre – local & travelling
- Music
- Stage
- Comedy
- Education
- Corporate
- Weddings
- School performances
- Dance & Theatre group performance
The mostly likely outcome for the first floor is restoration for welfare facilities and flexible spaces which support the second floor when used for events and in order to maximum the space on the 2nd floor.
The venue will be available for events all year round.
The group would continue to run the building
It is not intended to provide a home for groups/clubs ensuring that all spaces are available for event bookings 7 days a week. Visiting the hall should be a special occasion.
There is no intention to open the upper floors of the building as a place to eat or drink. It is anticipated that a mobile bar and a space suitable for preparing, warming and serving food will be available to support local chefs, businesses and restaurants to cater during events, eg. weddings.
The Co-op Hall will focus on the theatre as a performance space for non-resident performers with its tiered gallery seating. This is a different provision to existing venues in Ramsbottom.
